Beyond Good Enough: A Guide to Everyday Strategies to Reclaim Your Life with PTSD by Christiane Scarpino is a practical guide for people living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who want more than simply getting through the day.

Drawing on five decades of living with PTSD, years of therapy, evidence-based approaches, and her professional expertise as a speech-language pathologist, Christiane Scarpino shares practical PTSD coping strategies for navigating emotional overwhelm, intrusive thoughts, triggers, memory challenges, negative thinking, low self-esteem, isolation, and the everyday effects of trauma. Rather than offering a prescriptive program or promising a quick fix, she provides possibilities readers can try, adapt, or set aside as they find strategies that work for their own lives.

Organized into short, manageable sections, Beyond Good Enough offers accessible tools, activities, affirmations, reflection prompts, and “Try This” suggestions for both the internal and external challenges of living with PTSD. Topics include self-advocacy, emotional regulation, coping skills, memory and executive function, relationships, daily functioning, and knowing when professional trauma therapy may be needed.

Whether you are newly navigating PTSD or have lived with post-traumatic stress for years, Beyond Good Enough offers practical strategies for taking small steps toward greater control, confidence, connection, and quality of life. This is the resource Christiane wished she had when she was struggling to find her way forward, and now she shares it with others who are ready to move beyond simply being “good enough” to function.
